| Greetings! May God's Hope and Peace be with all of you. Dear Parish Nurses and Viewers The International Parish Nurse Resource Center (IPNRC) prepared and presented the Parish Nurse Faculty Update for current and new faculty held in St. Louis, Mo. from August 5th to the 8th at the Pallotine Renewal Center in Florissant, Mo. |

There were 27 new faculty. Of that,
there were 14 from 13 new Educational Partner Institutions and 13 that
were replacement or added faculty from ongoing Educational Partners; and
29 current faculty from Korea, Canada and United States.
Some of the states included California, Kentucky, Kansas, Florida, Colorado, South
Dakota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Missouri, West Virginia, Illinois, Indiana,
Massachusettes and Wisconsin. (I was the only one from Wisconsin.)
The new faculty focused on the teaching of the Basic Parish Nurse Preparation Curriculum of 21 modules. There was discussion of reviewing and revising the 21 modules in 2003. I did agree to assist with this revision. The current faculty focused on "Hearing the Call and Nurturing the Spirit." This retreat was a spiritual, enriching experience with daily devotional Matins and Vespers, rest, and great food prepared by the Pallotine Nuns. The four days ended with the beautiful Commission Service for the new faculty and a rewarding Rededication of the current faculty. The next Viterbo University Basic Parish Nurse Preparation will be held in Rice Lake, WI. October 4, 5, 25, 26, and November 1, 2, 2002. In Mark 6-30, He said to them, "come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile. " | |
