Dear Viewers,
Peace to all in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is the Year of the Eucharist. June is the month of sun shine, new blooming flowers and the first day of Summer. The sun at this time can become very hot. This can cause us to lose salt from our bodies through perspiration. |
|
|
Let us focus on the concept of salt. We are the salt of
the earth. Leviticus 2:13 states, "However, every cereal offering that
you present to the Lord shall be seasoned with salt." The term salt is
used 30 times in the Bible. Please read Numbers 18:19 and 2 Chronicles
13:5. Salt symbolizes hospitality, durability, fidelity, purity, and
covenant. Salt throughout history has been used as a preservative,
antiseptic, offering and a form of money.
Salt is essential for the body and our health, Our blood is 0.9% sodium chloride. Salt helps maintain the electrolyte balance inside our cells and outside our cells of the body. When outside in the heat of the summer, we can lose salt and water through perspiring. So, this balance has to be maintained to avoid heat exhaustion through replenishing these items. With exposure to the sun during exercise or working please take your water bottle with you at all times and rest in the shade periodically. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY JUNE 19TH. "You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men." In order to be the salt of the earth, attend the church of your choice, develop a prayer life and do acts of charity for your neighbor. | |
