- Avoid the sun as much as you are able, especially between the hours of 10AM-4Pm. The sun during these hours can do the most damage to your skin such as wrinkles, skin cancer, and
other skin problems.
- Put on sun screen with a Sun Protection
Factor(SPF) of 15, or more. Use even on cloudy days because the sun
really is still out. Use a lot of sun screen and rub it into the skin
well. Apply sun screen 30 minutes before going out into the sun. Apply
everywhere the sun rays can touch you, including your ears, and the back
of your neck.
- Wear wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, and long sleeved
shirts and pants. In Australia they have a slogan "Slip, Slap, Slop."
Slip on a long sleeved shirt, Slap on a hat, and Slop on the SPF.
- Don't try to get a tan.
- Doctors suggest you do monthly skin
checks. Stand in front of a full length mirror holding another small
mirror and check every inch of you skin including the bottoms of your
feet, or see a dermatologist.
Follow this rule: ABCDE:
- - Asymmetry
of the mole, it should look round.
- - Border, is it irregular?
- - Changed in color, is it darker than usual, or blue, green, red, pink,
purple, or gray?
- - Diameter of the mole, has it changed? Is it
larger?
- - Elevation of the mole above the skin, with a rough surface?
Please read 1 Cor:6-20 "You were bought with a price. Therefore, honor
God with your body."
