Dear Viewers,

Peace to all Viewers,
.
March is recognized as the month of Lent, Spring and Healthy Nutrition. As we experience our Lenten spiritual journey, lets concentrate on the concept of forgiveness and being healthy of mind, body, and soul. "Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another." (Colossians 3:13)

Forgiveness according to Webster's Dictionary means to forgive one's enemies , to pardon and to give up resentment or claim to requital on account of an offense. "Forgiveness is the loving, voluntary cancellation of a debt." (Paschal Baute) The high price of forgiveness was paid for by the death of the Son of God who died for all of us to forgive each other. Forgiveness is not only physically healthy; it is spiritually healthy. Forgiveness is not an easy thing to do. It is a very hard thing to do. Forgetting is part of forgiving and is also hard to do. It is in dwelling on forgetting that is unhealthy. It is in the act of forgiveness that we are healed. How can this be so? The body naturally produces adrenaline and cortisone for the 'fight and flight' syndrome which is needed for survival. (Hans Selye) When the body is constantly in this mode because of anger, resentment, anxiety, and the need to punish someone it causes stress. This in turn may produce peptic ulcers, increased blood pressure, anxiety, and gastritis or irritable bowel syndrome. Research studies show that in forgiving these chemicals are reduced. Thus we aid in helping to heal ourselves.
.
Some thoughts on how to forgive are: praying from the heart, being aware of the event or problem, take the responsibility to forgive yourself and the other person, and make an apology and forget. "And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." (Our Father)
