November is recognized for Thanksgiving Day, be sure to get your flu shot, what will be the number of snowfalls?, and Diabetes Month.
Lets concentrate on diabetes in children. A child tell his parents "I have diabetes" after studying the disease in school and wants to see the family doctor; and a child very frequently uses the bathroom. This could panic parents of these children . When a child is diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes this can be an emotional event for the whole family and the child. Please don't panic! Instead, gather all the information available from your Health Care Provider and others who have experienced this event to help make positive decisions for your children's health. Also, pray with each other. Type 1 diabetes is a serious disease, but many have lived fruitful and long lives. Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong disease that developes when the pancreas (organ ) doesn't produce the insulin ( which is made by the pancreas) needed to let the glucose into the body's cells where it is used for energy. Keeping blood sugar levels as close to normal is an all day job that takes much time and energy. It becomes part of the child's life and the parent's life to ensure the best quality of life and prevent complications of diabetes. Some of the complications include eye, kidney, blood vessels, heart and nerve diseases. Monitoring of the blood glucose levels is very important and follow the Health Care Provider's orders. Please make it the highest priority of your life to take good care of your body. Hebrews 3:13 states, "Encourage one another daily, while it is still today."
