The New American Roget's College Thesaurus defines family as household, forefathers, children, descendants, lineage, family tree, clan, tribe, group, ancestry and genealogy. The Modern Catholic Dictionary, Hardon, 2004, defines family as a group of persons related by marriage or blood and who typically include a father, mother, and children. The word family in Latin is familia meaning members of a household; from the Latin famulus it means servant/attendant.
.
The basic family unit according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church is called domestic church meaning family of God. How does a family have health of body, mind, and soul? Some things a family can do is pray together, worship together, listen to each other, eat meals together, play and exercise together, discuss issues together, help each other, thank each other, see their family health care providers. and live united in respect and love.
.
Acts 16:31 states, "and they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved."
.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
