Dear Viewers,
Peace to all in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. September hosts the first day of autumn on Wednesday the 22nd and is also recognized as the month of ADULT IMMUNIZATIONS. During September the leaves begin to turn colors, the evenings are cooler and the sun rises later in the morning and sets earlier in the evening. "For I will restore health and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord" (Jeremiah 30:17). |

| Lets focus on why adults need to be conscious of getting immunized to protect against communicable diseases such as influenza, pneumonia, hepatitis B, and tetanus to aid in maintaing health. Some adults need vaccinations against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, and varicella; consult your health care provider. Costs vary depending on your insurance and medicare coverage. Immunizations are some of the safest medicines effective to prevent illnesses and can relieve suffering costs. Influenza vaccine is administered yearly. Tetanus and diphtheria need boosters every ten years. Pneumococcal is given one time unless patients are at risk for Pneumococcal complications. Some facts about adult immunizations are: each year in the United States up to 60,000 adults die from vaccine preventable diseases or their complications. Influenza and pneumonia together are the 7th leading cause of death in America and the 5th leading cause of death among older adults. It is estimated that 180,000 Americans are infected with hepatitis A yearly. Please carry your up to date immunization record with you at all times. September 8th is the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. "He guides me in right paths for his name sake" (Psalm 23:3). | |
