Peace to all in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is the Year of Grace. The Lenten Season has begun and hoping your spiritual journey is progressing as you have planned. March is known for unpredictable weather with increased snowfalls, blizzards, rain, and sunshine. But, spring is coming. |

"For I will restore you to health; of your wounds I will heal you, says the Lord." (Jeremiah 30:17) Let's focus on colonoscopy as a prevention of cancer. Why should a person have a colonoscopy? It is recommended that starting at age 50 years for men and women that they have this screening done. For African Americans the age of 45 is recommended, and for anyone with familial history of colon rectal problems a colonoscopy should be performed. Please know your risk factors. What is a colonoscopy? This procedure enables the surgeon to examine the lining of the colon and rectum. It is usually done in a hospital or clinic. Why is a colonoscopy done? It is usually done as a routine screening to prevent cancer, to remove polyps, before or after some surgeries, to evaluate any change in bowel habits, and to evaluate any changes in the lining of the colon known as inflammatory disorders. (www.sages.org) Please see your Health Care Professional for more information on this important procedure for your health. Keep on praying, fasting and alms giving during Lent. "In Him who is the source of my strength I have strength for everything."
