Psalm 25:18 states, "put an end to my affliction and my suffering, and take away all my sins."
This parish nurse newsletter will focus on the disease of fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is described as a syndrome, cause unknown, with signs and symptoms that occur together in the same person. Some of the signs and symptoms are muscle pain, fatigue, depression, trouble sleeping, anxiety, temporomandibular joint discomfort (TMJ), morning stiffness and headaches to name a few. Fibromyalgia occurs more in women (80%) and in 2% of the United States population. What is available for a person to do about the Pain? First, see your Health Care Provider. The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) has guidelines to diagnose Fibromyalgia. Please follow the advice and treatment prescribed by your Health Care Provider. What can you do to for yourself? Develop a prayer life and exercise daily to help relieve the muscle pain. Pray while exercising. This regimen increases your level of energy and ability to function for the day. HAPPY ST.
