| Dear Viewers, Peace to all and Happy New Year. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us. (Isaiah 26:3,12). January is the month that is known for making of resolutions. Resolutions are defined by Webster's Dictionary as an act or process of resolving or |

reducing to a simpler form or determining results/answers or deciding that which is resolved. The making of resolutions bring anxieties of not being able to do them or fail at attempting them. St. Paul writes in Philippians 1:6 "that he who has begun the good work in you will carry it through to completion, right up to the day of Christ Jesus."
St. Francis of Assisi wrote "Lord make me an instrument of Peace." Is this a resolution to be tried by all peoples? Peace as a resolution means calmness, tranquility, absence of war, and absence of inner personal conflict. This peace needs work. St. Augustine tells us to work for peace which he defines as tranquility of order, and which is the work of justice and the effect of charity. Charity is the virtue by which we love God, ourselves and our neighbors. How then can the resolution of peace be resolved? Listed from the Catechism of the Catholic Church are a few things to ponder and be considered by all peoples: respect for and development of life, absence of war, safeguard the goods of persons, free communication among peoples, respect for dignity of persons , assiduous practice of brotherly love, renounce violence and blood shed, avoid war, and work for peace. Rev. 21:5 "See I make all things new." Don't be afraid to make a resolution. Pray about it and have a very Happy New Year. Trust in the Lord. "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid. (John14:27). | |
